Chronicle Appropriately Gives Kudos to BOCC for Maintaining School Concurrency

Thank you Commissioners!

chronicle_opinionIn Friday’s (June 26, 2015) Citrus County Chronicle the Editorial Board published an excellent commentary entitled, “With vote, board restored more than concurrency”. I encourage you to please CLICK HERE and read the commentary.

In the commentary they share that Commissioner Ron Kitchen said during this recent vote, “We shouldn’t have to talk to the school board… We should want to talk to the school board.”

The Editorial Board goes on to say correctly share, “Commissioners, thank you for listening to your constituents, staff and critics and working to salvage relations with the school district. The county is better off for your efforts.”

I want to thank the Chronicle for publicly giving gratitude to the Citrus County Board of County Commissioners and for keeping the public informed on these issues.

I most importantly want to again thank the Citrus County Board of County Commissioners for reflecting and showing their desire to want to work with the School Board. I look forward to continuing to work together for our great county and its students and families.
