Thank You, Judge Patricia Thomas

Judge Thomas in 2014 at the Gold Citrus Awards with then CRHS senior Reece Sisto,
I was deeply saddened to learn this morning of the passing of former Judge Patricia Thomas, who also proudly served as a member of the Citrus County School Board from 1990 to 1993 before being appointed as a Judge.
Judge Thomas was a monumental advocate for our children, our students, and public education. She set an example for so many of us in school board leadership through her unwavering commitment to serving our community with integrity, wisdom, and compassion.
I had the great honor of serving alongside Judge Thomas through the Citrus County Coalition for College and Careers (CCCCC), where she continued her lifelong dedication to helping students prepare for successful futures after high school. Her commitment to education extended far beyond the classroom. She remained actively involved with Citrus County Schools, the Golden Citrus Scholarship Foundation, the Citrus County Education Foundation, and countless other community efforts that benefited our students.
Judge Thomas was also a respected educational advocate on the Citrus County Chronicle Editorial Board. I was honored that she would occasionally reach out to me for additional perspective and clarification on issues affecting our school district and our students. Those conversations reflected her genuine desire to understand the issues and make informed decisions that served the best interests of our community.
Judge Thomas was a remarkable individual whose impact will be felt for generations. She truly left this world a better place through her service, leadership, and unwavering belief in the potential of our young people.
Thank you, Judge Thomas, for a lifetime of service to Citrus County. Your legacy will continue to inspire those of us who strive to serve our community with the same dedication and grace.
Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Our community is profoundly grateful for all she gave to us.
