Parent Says Kennedy’s Leadership Would Be A Great Asset

Dear Citrus County Voters:

This August, Citrus County residents will have the opportunity to elect Thomas Kennedy, a highly qualified candidate, for the District 1 seat on the Citrus County School Board.

I met Thomas Kennedy seven years ago at story time at the Central Ridge Library.  For five years, I’ve worked under his outstanding leadership as Student Advisory Enhancement Council (SAEC) Chairperson for both Citrus Springs Elementary and Central Ridge Elementary.  He has always gone “above and beyond” in his role as Chairperson.  He understands the public school system, federal and state legislation, and effectively communicates the issues to all involved.

The current eight year School Board District 1 incumbent sends his children to private school.  While this is a personal choice, it certainly provides a totally different perspective from Thomas’.  Thomas sends his children to public school and actively participants in all facets of public education.  This affords infinite communication opportunities.  Thomas’ wife, Thomasine, teaches at Citrus Springs Middle School.  This combination provides Thomas with an inherent interest to do what is best for Citrus County schools and students.  It’s also important to know that Thomas views the position of a school board member as full-time.

Personally, I’m an active school volunteer, Citrus Organization for the Gifted Board member, PTA and SAEC member at CRES and CSMS, parent advocate for high-achieving and gifted students, and an Odyssey of the Mind Coach.   Thomas has a sincere and passionate desire to make a difference in education in this capacity.  He would be perfect for the job.

Many residents have seen the “www.KennedyforKids.com.” signs around town. The amount of support, county-wide, from school administrators, teachers, parents and students is amazing.  For those of us who know Thomas, there is no doubt his leadership would be a great asset.  Early voting starts on August 9th with Election Day commencing on August 24th.  Please vote for Thomas Kennedy for School Board District 1.

Best Regards,
Corrine Sachewicz
