CRHS Senior Awards 2024

CRHS Senior Awards 2024

Last evening, the Crystal River High School (CRHS) community gathered to celebrate the outstanding achievements of its graduating seniors at the 2024 CRHS Senior Awards. This annual gala not only lauds academic prowess but also shines a spotlight on the indomitable spirit of leadership, service, and exemplary character that defines CRHS students.

Central to the evening’s festivities was the momentous presentation of approximately $250,000 in local scholarships and grants, highlighting the unwavering support and investment of the CRHS community in nurturing the bright futures of these young individuals. Alongside these vital financial aids, seniors were adorned with a multitude of honors, including Cum Laude and National Honor Society (NHS) stoles, Volunteer cords, EMT cords, Honor cords, and other esteemed distinctions.

Among the crowning jewels of the evening were the coveted titles of Mr. and Miss CRHS, carefully selected by the CRHS teachers and staff, and bestowed upon students who exemplify the very essence of leadership and service within the CRHS community. This year, the esteemed titles were bestowed upon Tim Grey, honored as Mr. CRHS, and Hannah Sieg, distinguished as Miss CRHS, embodying the tenacious dedication and excellence emblematic of proud Pirates.

A poignant highlight of the evening was the emotional presentation of the Chandler Wyatt Stalcup Character Scholarships. Scholarships in memory of persons are always heartfelt, and this was no exception. Crafted in loving memory of Chandler Stalcup, a beloved former Pirate football and baseball player and Class of 2023 CRHS alumnus, these scholarships underscore the enduring impact of individuals within the CRHS family. Presented with heartfelt sincerity by Chandler’s mother, Carla Stalcup, and accompanied by a touching tribute from his sister Peyton Stalcup, a 2021 CRHS alumna, these scholarships serve as a living testament to the enduring legacy of Chandler’s character and contributions.

CRHS Class of 2024 Class President Michael Miller shared with Principal Phil McLeod the Class of 2024 is gifting to the school a beautifully engraved nautical compass, serving as a poignant reminder of the direction and guidance provided by the teachers and staff to the Class of 2024 as they embark on their next chapter. Just as a compass guides a ship through uncharted waters, so too do the mentors at CRHS guide their students towards success and fulfillment.

The resounding success of the CRHS Senior Awards serves as a testament to the collective dedication and hard work of not only the students but also the passionate educators, visionary leaders, steadfast staff, and the wider CRHS community united in their commitment to nurturing excellence and fostering a culture of growth and achievement.

To the remarkable CRHS seniors and their families, heartfelt congratulations on your well-deserved recognition, and may your journeys ahead be filled with boundless success, purpose, and adventure as you navigate the seas of life with courage and determination, true to the spirit of the CRHS Pirates.
