IMS was recognized for raising the third largest amount of money in Florida for the charity through the Hoops for Heart fundraiser and the most money among the schools participating in Citrus County. At right, Jared Fogle, a.k.a. Jared The Subway Guy, visited the school to congratulate the students for their hard work and teach them the importance of eating right and exercising. Fogle gained national fame 12 years ago after losing more than 200 pounds by eating two Subway sandwiches daily. At his heaviest, Fogle weighed 425 pounds.
