BOCC joins CCSB in support of SRO agreement
Today, Tuesday, August 7, 2018, the Citrus County Board of County Commission approved the School Resource Officer (SRO) agreement with the School Board and the Sheriff on a vote of 4-1. This is the identical agreement that the School Board passed unanimously yesterday, Monday, August 6, 2018.
I want to personally thank Commissioner Kinnard, Commissioner Carnahan, Vice-Chairman Coleman, and Chairman Kitchen for the handling, comments, and votes today.
We pray this matter will soon come to conclusion. The School Board and Superintendent have made it clear that regardless of what happens with this agreement, we will have law enforcement officers on our campuses when students return on Monday, August 13, 2018.
