2022 Citrus Regional Science & Engineering Fair Awards
Over 300 students were recognized!
Nothing better than spending an evening celebrating our students at the 2022 Citrus Regional Science and Engineering Fair. Last night at the Curtis Peterson Auditorium at Lecanto High School over 300 students received recognitions and awards and over $4,000 worth of scholarships and awards were bestowed on our students. In addition to medals, certificates, trophies, and prizes, specialty awards were provided by Duke Energy, Citrus County Education Foundation, Homosassa River Alliance, Tim/Holli Herndon, and Citrus Oral & Facial Surgery’s the Ronald J. Worthington Award.
This year students submitted for consideration approximately 1,300 projects. Over 45 expert judges participated including but not limited to Engineers (some from Duke), Physician Residents from Citrus Memorial Hospital, local Business Owners, Rotary Club Members, YMCA Coordinators, State Wildlife and Environmental Scientists, Retired Teachers, Registered Nurses, and Physicists.
Thank you to Community partners, Science fair teacher coordinators, district staff, volunteers, parents, and most of all our hard-working students.
Start planning now for next year’s competition!
